A digital corkboard for messy ideas

Tacksy is a free digital corkboard. You pin your thoughts as sticky notes, move them around like you would on a real board, and sort them out later, only if they earn it.

What is a digital corkboard?

A digital corkboard is an online version of the board you might keep on your wall: a space where you stick notes, ideas, reminders and plans, and arrange them however makes sense to you. Unlike a normal notes app, it is not a list. Everything has a place you chose, and you can see it all at once.

Tacksy is built around that feeling. Everything on your board is a sticky. You are not filling in a form or building a document, you are putting a thought somewhere so you do not lose it.

How Tacksy works

Pin a sticky. Write a title and, if you want, a short description. A fragment is enough. "Song title", "Gift for mum", "App idea" all count.
Move it around. Drag stickies anywhere on the board. Cluster the ones that belong together until the shape of your thinking becomes visible.
Make it yours. Pick a colour for each sticky, change its font. The board looks and feels like yours.
Add what you need, when you need it. A sticky can hold a checklist with a progress bar, reference links, tags and notes. If it does not need any of that, leave it plain.
Use separate boards. Keep one board for ideas, one for things to do and one for random thoughts, or create your own.

Who it is for

Tacksy is for anyone whose head is full of half-formed things: people planning content, students, writers, makers, and people who simply have ten ideas and no idea where they belong. If a notes app makes you feel like you have to write a paragraph before you are allowed to save something, a corkboard is the easier option.

Free, on your phone and your PC

Tacksy is free to use. There is no trial and no countdown. It runs in your browser on a phone or a computer, and you can add it to your home screen so it is one tap away. Your notes are encrypted, and you sign in to see your boards.

It is built and maintained by one person, Daniel, from Lagos, Nigeria.

Start with one sticky

You do not need to set anything up. Create an account, pin the first thing on your mind, and see where the board goes from there.
